Wintergreen is a cold hardy, evergreen groundcover native to Ohio! This spritely plant blooms in shady woodlands during the summer, later producing festive, bright red berries for winter. Leaves and berries are aromatic and edible, and they’re used to flavor teas and toothpastes. Wintergreen prefers bright indirect light, cool temperatures, and even watering indoors through the Northeast Ohio winter, until it can be planted outdoors in spring.

Norfolk Island Pine makes the perfect mini ‘giving tree’. This tropical evergreen is fun to decorate, and comes in small, medium, and large floor plant size. Norfolk Island Pine loves bright indirect light and humid conditions.

Amaryllis is a showy, multiple-blooming bulb that’s easy to force into bloom indoors in gravel or potting soil. Enjoy it in a bright, cool area for longest flowering. After it’s done blooming, treat it as a typical houseplant year-round.

Christmas Cactus is an exotic-looking, yet easy-to-grow houseplant. It prefers bright indirect to a part-day of sunlight, as well as well-drained, sandy soil. Keep evenly moist to slightly dry and take outdoors for a cold treatment mid-September through mid-October for incredible flowering.

Frosty Fern gets its name from the white-tipped, new growth it produces. Not truly a fern or a moss, this soft-textured plant grows wonderfully in terrariums with moist soil, high humidity, and medium to bright indirect lighting.

Flamingo Flower is a lovely, exotic, flowering plant known for its rather long, often year-round blooming, cycles. in bright indirect light. Year-round flowering is most likely in bright indirect lighting conditions and when a half-cup of water is applied each week.
