Brad, known as Garden Evolution page on Facebook, is an adept perennial gardener who uses the winter to accomplish renovation projects on his historic 1874 home, so he can spend the entire growing season doing whatever his heart desires around the exterior of the property. Well-known around the community for breathing new life into the grounds of an old home, Brad is highly admired for the dramatic and expeditious makeover he and his partner achieved since moving in back in late 2019.

Shannon is an incredibly studious and committed raised bed vegetable gardener who truly enjoys the always-learning aspects of gardening as much as she enjoys entertaining friends and family with the fruits of her hobby. When not working, Shannon is in the garden or learning about gardening. She spends Jan-Feb researching. In March, she starts seeds. And the rest of the growing season, she dedicates to maximizing her ever-increasing number of raised garden beds, kindly built by her husband and partner-in-gardening Lee, and harvesting them daily for new recipes. This year, Shannon is excited to introduce more annuals and perennials, bringing them alongside her vegetables as companion plants in hopes of drawing more beneficial pollinators.

Jenny is a self-labeled container gardener who loves to switch up her plant mix with every season to create a whole new scene and reason to smile. She and her husband, Kyle, built their first home just a few years ago, after having lived in a high-rise apartment building for most of their relationship. They chose their lot based on a single sunflower that was growing there, trusting it to be a good sign. With a blank yard slate came a tremendous new gardening lifestyle for both of them, one that includes a beautiful multi-tiered deck sprinkled with annual containers and lined by a bed of Knock Out® shrub roses. The envy-worthy highlight? A custom-made, dog bone-shaped pool for their beloved Goldendoodle, Moose.

Over the last 15 years, Darlene & Andy have cultivated their backyard space to be a sanctuary, dubbing it the Darndy Oasis and describing it as their own little secret garden. The two are fans of cottage gardening, favoring perennials and hydrangeas for their in-ground plantings, but they also enjoy planting up their eclectic assortment of containers with annuals each spring. Because deer are a constant presence in their neck of the woods, they rely heavily on deer-resistant plants. In 2017, the couple was awarded Lyndhurst’s “Yard of Distinction” Award.

A lifelong gardener, Morgan prefers to spend as much time as possible in her yard, continuously designing and crafting a home setting that reflects her passion for plants and her meticulous dedication to their care. With no formal irrigation system, Morgan wakes at 4am daily to water by hand. Just a few years ago, she and her husband built from scratch numerous garden beds along a plentiful stretch of fence, cutting out beds, preparing soil, and planting shrubs and perennials to form a dynamic space. Satisfied with what’s complete, Morgan is evolving her vision to include more annual color each spring.

With a vision that began more than 20 years ago for a multi-level garden filled with hideaway paths and vignettes irrigated by a French drain, Mike has journaled the evolution of the gardens that surround his home in 360^o, and there’s truly a story behind every plant! Mike has 81 unique varieties of Hosta, not to mention countless other perennials, trees, and shrubs! Someone who does not require perfection, Mike sees silver linings – including the time he recognized an opportunity to transform the 12-ft stump of his Ash tree (impacted by borers) into living architecture that now hosts Ivy and Climbing Hydrangea.
