Petitti Planting Service

This service will be paused in late April / early May 2024, and will resume during the summer months. Proper installation and the use of soil amendments (based on need) are key to the success of any new plant. Skillful planting and organic nutrients combine to ensure rooting, establishment, and long-term growth and development of the plant. At Petitti’s, we offer our services to meet your need, and we back our Petitti Planting Service with a *1-year guarantee unique to this program, covering both plants and labor.

how it works

  • Visit the Nursery department at your go-to Petitti Garden Center to request a quote.
  • Your Nursery associate will factor your plant selection and related planting materials to generate the total quote inclusive of the plants, necessary soils/fertilizers, and labor.
  • Once accepted, the Nursery associate will accompany you to the registers to complete the total plant + soils/fertilizers + installation service purchase.
  • Once the purchase is complete, a Cashier/Customer Service will work with you to schedule delivery & professional installation (planting), and your plants and soils/fertilizers will be stored and cared for until the date of your planting service.
  • On the date of your service, all purchased plants and pre-purchased soils/fertilizers listed on the receipt will be delivered to your home and carefully, efficiently installed by our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Planting fees are equal to the regular retail price of each plant purchased for installation. For example, if you purchase a shrub for $39.99 regular retail price, the installation fee for that shrub is also $39.99. If you purchase a plant on sale, the installation fee for that plant will remain at its regular retail price.

Planting fees cover delivery and labor. Plants & soils/fertilizers are purchased separately.

Planting Service begins at a $300 total minimum.

Planting Service is available at all Petitti locations, excluding Boardman.

Planting Service is available March-April and June-October. Due to the nature of our business, May is typically unavailable.

You do not need to be home at the time of installation.

Our team may stake trees to ensure steadfast root development, depending on variety and site conditions. Stakes should be removed once roots have developed, roughly 1 year after planting.

what to do

  • Determine where you’d like your plants to be installed. Clearly mark areas, if you plan to be away from your home at the time of planting.
  • Remove roots, stumps, rocks, or other debris. If obstacles are present, Petitti’s team will plant in the nearest open spot.
  • Mark any gas, power, cable, drain, sprinkler, or invisible fence lines that may be in the planting area (Petitti Garden Centers is not responsible for damage to any lines).

*Our 1-Year Guarantee

Soil amendments and fertilizers including Petitti Planting Mix, Espoma Bio-tone, and Espoma Plant-tone/Holly-tone are highly recommended and should be present at the time of planting to ensure nutrient-rich soil, root development, and healthy growth. All Trees & Shrubs planted using these materials and our service are guaranteed for one year. If you notice a problem with your new plant(s), please contact the Petitti Garden Center where you made your purchase and have your receipt ready.
