About the Frosty Fern

Frosty Fern (Selaginella kraussiana) gets its name from the white-tipped, new growth it produces. Not truly a fern or a moss, this soft-textured plant grows wonderfully in terrariums with moist soil, high humidity, and medium light. While they do prefer consistent watering and evenly moist soil, they do not like wet feet, so planting with proper drainage is key. Shop our online selection of Frosty Fern.

Care Notes

Grow in bright, indirect light keeping the soil evenly moist with consistent re-watering and high humidity. The higher humidity will result in soft, healthy foliage.. They prefer cooler temperatures around 55-65 degrees F. Keep out of hot or cold drafts. Fertilize with Osmocote April through October.
