care tips
Water Wisely | Check moisture levels daily, and don’t wait to water until the plant begins to wilt. Full-sun planters will dry out quicker than combos left in the shade. If the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, it’s time to water! Thoroughly moisten the soil until water drains from the bottom.
Prune Courageously | As the season progresses and summer conditions fuel growth, combo planers may start looking stretched and leggy. Don’t be afraid to give them a trim! Prune back straggly stems by about. one-third to one-half, giving the plant the ability to produce fresh growth, new branching, and more blooms! By giving your combo planter a mid-season cutback, you’ll be rewarded with a resurgence of fresh, fuller growth that lasts well into fall.
Feed Thoughtfully | By mid-season, annual plants have used much of the initial nutrients in the soil. To keep flower thriving, apply Osmocote® Smart-Release Plant Food granules every six weeks. Or, feed your planter with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer like Miracle-Gro® every one to two weeks per package instructions.
