About the Spinach ‘Tyee’
Angelo’s Farm Market veggies are specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful. Look for ‘Tyee’ spinach that produces rich, semi-savoyed, succulent greens that grow upright and fast for a clean, easy harvest. This cold crop is also fairly heat resistant and slow to bolt; perfect for the fall through spring harvest in salads or sautéed and tossed in pasta. Maturity: 45 days
Care Notes
Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Garden-tone®. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
