About the French Thyme

Angelo’s Farm Market herbs are specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful. Look for classic ‘French’, ornamental ‘Hi Ho Silver’ and ‘Wooly’, and mosquito repellent ‘Golden Lemon’. Thyme typically possesses tiny foliage with a sweet aroma that is good with fish, chicken, marinades, teas and fruit salad. Makes an excellent groundcover, great companion to most herbs and vegetables, especially eggplant and cabbage. Blooms pinkish, edible flowers.

Care Notes

Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Garden-tone®. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature. Harvest 1/3 of the new, tender foliage in the morning. Dry or freeze extra for future use.
