About the Foam Flower
Commonly known as Foam Flower, Tiarella are spring-blooming perennials that thrive in the shade garden! Native to Ohio, these reliable plants produce airy spikes of white to soft pink spring blooms over dark green foliage. Their foliage persists throughout the season, turning shades of burgundy and red in fall. Foam flowers are low-growing, clump-forming perennials perfect for low borders in shade gardens or woodland plantings, and their blooms attract early-season pollinators.
Care Notes
Plant in moist, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Do not let them dry out. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone once in spring and again mid-summer. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring every 3-4 years after cutting back the foliage.
