About the Sweet Pepper

Angelo’s Farm Market veggies are specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful. Look for several varieties and colors of bell peppers including ‘Big Bertha’, ‘Chocolate Wonder’, ‘Golden California Wonder’, and ‘Red Knight’. There is an excellent selection of European stuffers and fryers such as ‘Cubanelle’, ‘Giant Marconi’, ‘Gypsy’, and ‘Sweet Romanian’. Generally, sweet peppers are excellent for fresh eating, salads, grilling, stuffing, and frying.

Care Notes

Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Garden-tone®. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
