Pulsatilla vulgaris

pasque flower

About the Pasque Flower

Adorable, light green, ferny foliage coated in a silvery fuzz, then topped with astonishingly beautiful, burgundy-red bell shaped flowers that turn to fluffy seed heads in summer. Unique and eye-catching spring bloomer that is perfect in rock gardens or in the front border.

Care Notes

Plant in well-drained, gritty, slightly alkaline, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Shear spent flowers for a neat appearance and some reblooming. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring after flowering.
