About the Lily of the Valley

One of the best perennial groundcovers for the shade, especially wonderful due to their intense perfume exuding from their dainty white bells in spring. Once it is established in the garden it will last indefinitely. Perfect under dense shade trees or growing among spring blooming bulbs, coral bells and Brunnera.


Care Notes

Plant in moist, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
