About the Lamium, Spotted Deadnettle

Outstanding, shade and deer resistant groundcovers that form spreading patches of distinctive, small, green leaves with silver blotches. Clusters of white, pink, purple, and yellow hooded flowers appear in spring then sporadically until fall. Use as a woodland garden edger near shade loving trees, shrubs and perennials.


Care Notes

Plant in well-drained to moist, average soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Mow or shear in early spring. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in fall when necessary.
