cauliflower ‘self blanche’

Angelo’s Farm Market veggies are specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful. Look for ‘Self Blanche’ cauliflower producing 7″ wide, medium sized, flavorful, snow ball type heads. Its curd remains pure white due to its extraordinary foliage that curls upward and covers the cauliflower acting as a shade and keeping the sun from spoiling its color and flavor. Cauliflower is best when planted early May with frost protection as it stops growing when it gets hot. Maturity: 68 days.

Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Garden-tone®. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
