About the Broccoli
Angelo’s Farm Market veggies are specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful. Look for ‘Liberty’ broccoli, simply the easiest and best tasting, producing large, heavy crowns early season with consistent, deep green florets that possess an excellent, mild, fresh flavor. Best eaten or prepared straight from the garden or store in the freezer. This fantastic cold crop produces best in the cool spring or fall weather. Prefers consistent soil moisture. Maturity: 50 days
Care Notes
Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Garden-tone®. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
