About the Sunflower ‘Mammoth’
Angelo’s Farm Market veggies are specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful. Look for ‘Mammoth’ sunflower that produces huge, 12-14″ wide, traditional golden yellow flowers with chocolate brown centers blooming July to September producing heavy yields of striped seeds. Strong stems are perfect for creating natural playhouses, teepees, and birdfeeders. Sunflowers are heavy feeders, so fertilize regularly, and are tolerant of dry, hot conditions. For snacking, soak dried seed in 1 gal. water with 1 cup salt overnight. Drain, dry in 250°F oven 4-5 hours. Maturity: 100 days
