Allium ascalonicum 'Ambition'

shallot ‘ambition’

About the Shallot ‘Ambition’

Angelo’s Farm Market veggies are specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful. Look for ‘Ambition’, a large French, half-long variety with warm, red to copper skin and mild, white flesh. Used in gourmet cooking. These shallots produce very firm bulbs that can be stored from harvest until spring. Use shallots in place of onion for a mild, fresh flavor that is not as potent. Maturity: 100 days

Care Notes

Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Garden-tone®. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
