About the Corydalis

Commonly called Fumewort, Corydalis is a fragrant, spring-blooming perennial perfect for the shade garden. Classic Corydalis produce yellow blooms, while newer cultivated varieties offer shades of blue, all of which have a sweet, honeysuckle-like scent that attracts early-season pollinators. Enjoy blooms from April through June, with a repeat performance in late summer. Plant in moist, well-drained soil and enjoy blooms for years to come.

Care Notes

Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in fall when necessary.
