Video Recap
We all know pumpkins are the perfect fall porch decor but did you know they can also be a great vessel to plant in? Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist, and Education Director with Petitti Garden Centers, as she shows you 4 extra-fun ways to decorate with pumpkins this season. From planting on top of pumpkins with indentations to planting in pumpkins (or your typical ceramic planters), Noelle has plenty of tips to spruce up your fall decorating this year! Fill the pumpkins with fall favorites such as pansies, violas, mums, ornamental cabbage, or our new fall favorite, SuperCals. You can also plant with some of your favorite late-season herbs like wooly thyme. To prevent your carved pumpkins from deteriorating so quickly, we recommend washing the cut and cleaned pumpkins in a bleach solution that is 1-part bleach to 10 parts water. Let it air dry and then plant away.
