Radio Show Recap
A week of rainy weather has the lawn and garden fairly soggy, but there’s still a lot to be done to get ready for the growing season! This week, Angelo shares lawn care tips for spring, including best practices for seeding the lawn, managing weeds, and fertilizing. He also talks about the best time to divide and transplant perennials. PLUS, he answers caller questions like “when is the best time to prune spirea”, and “there are black spots on my rose canes, how should I treat them”?
Angelo’s Gardening Tips
- This is a great time to split perennials. Dig up a clump, split it as desired, prepare soil with a 50/50 mix of existing soil and fresh planting mix and apply Bio-tone to fertilize.
- Peonies & Iris – don’t divide now, wait to late July or August.
