Cichorium intybus 'Red Preco'

radicchio ‘red preco’

About the Radicchio ‘Red Preco’

Angelo’s Farm Market veggies are specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful. Look for ‘Red Preco’, considered a superior variety of early yielding, yet slow to bolt radicchio. Produces attractive, full, heavy heads of folded, mildly bitter, red leaf chicory during cool weather from early spring to summer. Early, tender greens can also be harvested regularly for use in salads, risotto and many other Italian dishes. Maturity: 65 days

Care Notes

Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Garden-tone®. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
