Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea'

golden moneywort ‘aurea’

About the Golden Moneywort ‘Aurea’

A.k.a. Golden Creeping Jenny, this attractive perennial groundcover with small, round, chartreuse leaves on long trailing stems is often utilized as an excellent annual “spiller” in mixed container gardens for the sun or shade. It’s lovely grown with dark leaved New Guinea impatiens, or purple leaf Coral bells. This variety may flower small yellow cup shaped blooms in spring, but it is insignificant compared to its foliage effects.

Care Notes

Grow in sunny to shady areas, moist, amended soil or containers. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Plant-tone®. Follow label instructions. Trim as needed to maintain a tidy habit. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
