Fuchsia hybrida

About the Fuchsia

There are upright and trailing fuchsia varieties, both producing showy, pendulous flowers with varying colors of dark and light calyx tubes, sepals and petals in pink, red, purple, coral and white. Fuchsia are excellent hummingbird attractants. The taller varieties make lovely “thrillers” and “fillers” in a shady border or container. The trailing varieties are best grown alone in hanging baskets hung on tree branches or under a porch overhang. Shop our select varieties of Fuchsia online.

Care Notes

Grow in part shade to shady areas, well-drained, moist, rich soil or containers. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Plant-tone®. Follow label instructions. Deadhead and trim as needed to encourage more blooms and tidy habit. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
