Linum perenne nanum

flax

About the Flax

A dwarf variety of fluffy, floriferous, five petal flax in blue and white. Flowers are so abundant that they appear to be long lasting, but each fades after one day over ferny, fine, blue-green foliage. Best grown in well-drained sunny borders and rock gardens.

Care Notes

Plant in well-drained, light, sandy, soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Keep surface of rhizome dry. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Deadhead spent flowers to promote reblooming. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring if necessary.
