About the Cranesbill Geranium

Cranesbill geranium are a low to medium, mounded perennial plants covered with 1-3″ wide, open, single blooms in blue, pink, magenta, purple and white. One of the best and hardiest cranesbill is ‘Rozanne’; voted Perennial Plant of the Year 2008. Large, 2.5″, electric violet-blue blooms cover low mounds of vigorous, cut-leaf foliage growing best in part shade and flowering non-stop from May to frost. Fall foliage is a pleasing bronze to burgundy red.


Care Notes

Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer after deadheading or shearing to encourage new blooms. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring when necessary. Propagation prohibited.
