About the Catmint

An easy plant to grow in not so easy places, catmint will flower lavender-blue flowers on petite to arching spikes that start early summer and repeat throughout the growing season. Foliage is blue-grey, soft and aromatic. Plant along edges, rock walls, and with other pollinator attractants. ‘Walker’s Low” Voted Perennial Plant of the Year in 2007. Care Notes

Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich to poor soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Shear back 2/3rds for neat appearance and reblooming. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
