Bougainvillea spp.

bougainvillea ‘assorted’

About the Bougainvillea ‘Assorted’

Gorgeous, semi-tropical, woody shrub/vine that produces brilliant neon bracts covering small white, tubular flowers in pink, violet, salmon, white, etc. that resemble paper lanterns all growing season over dense green foliage. They make an awesome annual “thriller” supported on a trellis in a mixed container garden, and grow best spilling over the sides of hanging baskets. Be aware that some varieties produce sharp thorns on their branches. They can be wintered over indoors as a houseplant too. Shop our online selection of Bougainvilleas online in Assorted Annuals.

Care Notes

Grow in full sun, 6+ hours of direct sun per day. Prefers warm to average household temperatures, 65°-85°F. Keep soil evenly moist to slightly dry. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles over winter. Feed with Osmocote or Miracle-Gro April-September. After flowering, prune them back, then water sparingly to keep leaves from wilting.
