About the Bee Balm

Bee balm is a delight in the garden for all pollinators with showy, mint-scented blossoms in shades of lavender, pink, red, white and purple on sturdy, square stems. Newer varieties possess improved mildew resistant foliage. Performs best in full sunn, moist soil, and good air circulation with other cutting or cottage garden types. Care Notes

Plant in well-drained, nutrient rich to poor soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Shear back 2/3rds for neat appearance and reblooming. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall when necessary.
