About the Beefsteak, Slicing Tomato
One of the largest types of tomatoes in size and in varieties available. They are typically juicy, meaty with a rich flavor and few seeds. Often sliced, delicious on hamburgers and sandwiches. Both determinate (bush-type) and indeterminate (vine-type) varieties available in Angelo’s Farm Market, specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful. Look for big, meaty favorites such as ‘Big Beef’, ‘Big Boy’, ‘Beefsteak’, and ‘Park’s Whopper’. Other medium size, multipurpose slicers include, ‘Celebrity’, ‘Early Girl’, ‘Fourth of July’, ‘Pink Girl’, and ‘Rutgers Select’.
