About the Lupine

The ‘Gallery Series’ and other hybrids produce a spectacular mix of lupine that bloom the first year it is planted and produces dozens of spikes full of fragrant, spicy, sweet pea like blossoms. Lupine flowers are almost every color of the rainbow with many eye-catching bicolor varieties.


Care Notes

Plant in cool, moist, acidic, nutrient rich soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Deadhead spent flower stalks to keep a clean appearance., Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring or fall.
