About the Ice Plant
A beautiful blooming, succulent groundcover that looks very similar to Portulaca, (moss rose), but with thicker, more vigorous foliage. Flowers are vivid tones of magenta, red, yellow, orange and white, closing on cloudy days and at night. They appreciate dry, well-drained soil, and make perfect rock garden plants.
Care Notes
Plant in well-drained, dry soil amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water, once a week the first year. Use Plant-tone and Iron-tone in spring or at planting; apply Osmocote in summer. Mulch 1-2” to suppress weeds and retain soil moisture. Divide in spring and summer when necessary.
