About the Golden Marjoram
A sweet, mild version of its cousin oregano is an annual herb with low growing, ornamental, golden yellow foliage that can be used fresh or dried with any meat, sausage, potatoes and stuffing. A wonderful garden companion to sweet peppers and sage that tolerates dry soil conditions. Part of the Angelo’s Farm Market herbs collection that were specifically selected for home growers to be productive, disease resistant, and flavorful.
Care Notes
Plant in sunny, well-drained, nutrient rich soil or containers amended with organic matter like Petitti Planting Mix. Water well after planting; maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season. Feed with a slow release fertilizer, Osmocote® or Garden-tone®. Follow label instructions. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature. Harvest 1/3 of the new, tender foliage in the morning. Dry or freeze extra for future use.
