About the Kalanchoe, Calandiva

Kalanchoe make excellent blooming houseplants possessing succulent, olive-green, scalloped foliage, and single or double blooming flowers, (Calandiva), with up to 26 petals per flower in a variety of cheerful colors including light and dark pink, red, yellow, white and orange. Blooms are naturally produced in winter, just as the day begins to lengthen. Their habit will stay nice and compact perfect for table top containers or mixed dish gardens with other succulents. Care Notes

Grow in bright indirect lighting from an eastern or northern exposure window, or under fluorescent lighting. Prefers average to warm household temperatures, 65°-80°F. Let the soil dry out between water applications. Supply extra humidity by setting on a shallow tray of moistened pebbles. Feed with Osmocote or Miracle-Gro April-September. Remove spent flowers and leggy branches back to a green leaf node.
