Angelo’s Favorite Annuals for Continuous Color

Radio Show Recap

We had a gorgeous week here in Northeast Ohio and the gardens are starting to dry up and become workable! This week, Angelo shared advice for maintaining lawn weeds, and the proper way to start planting this season. He also shares some of his favorite annuals that provide season-long color! PLUS, he answers caller questions like “I want to plant a Lilac Tree, but can you tell me how much sun it needs”, and “What perennials bloom during the mid-point of the season in summer”?

Angelo’s Favorite Annuals for Continuous Color

  • SHOP SunPatiens® – They are deer-resistant and excellent for both sunny and shady areas in the landscape.
  • SHOP Lantana – They’re deer-resistant, drought-tolerant, and they thrive in the heat of summer.
  • SHOP Begonias – The Rieger & Solenia types can sun to 1/2 day of shade.
  • SHOP Salvia – The blue varieties are a show-stopper in containers and the landscape.

  • SHOP Million Bells (Calibrachoa) – These self-cleaning annuals bloom non-stop all season long and grow best in containers.
  • SHOP Supertunias – They are easy to grow, self-cleaning, prolific bloomers, perfect for sunny spaces in the landscape.
  • SHOP Tropical Hibiscus – There are so many bright colors to choose from!
  • SHOP Mandevillas – These amazing bloomers make fantastic thrillers in container gardens! They prefer to grow up trellises.
  • SHOP Dipladenias – A more compact version of Mandevillas, these tropical bloomers also prefer to grow up trellises.
  • SHOP Bougainvillea – These everblooming tropical plants come in three vibrant colors and can be treated as houseplants through the winter months.
