The Senecio family includes over 100 varieties of annual foliage plants and indoor succulents. Though the most popular Senecio tend to be trailing plants like String of Pearls and String of Dolphins, there are a large number of upright varieties that perform well indoors on their own or in succulent gardens. Like most succulents, they prefer bright indirect light to part shade (outdoors), lower-than-average watering, and average household humidity. Shop Senecio varieties available now.

Grow in 4+ hours of direct sun per day to bright indirect light (5-6’ from a sunny window), eastern exposure is preferable. Prefers cool to warm household temperatures, 55°-85°F (tropical succulent plant, not cold hardy in Northeast Ohio). Let soil dry between waterings. Average humidity (40%) is beneficial, but not required. Feed with a multipurpose plant or cactus food, half strength, once a month, April-September, or as directed on the package label.
