Late fall into winter is a great time to start thinking about feeding the birds. Adding food sources to our yards as we head into the winter months provide much-needed fat and energy for our feathered friends that don’t migrate. While some people love having squirrels frequent their bird feeders, they may cause problems for others. There are many options when it comes to deterring squirrels from bird feeders, such as using specific seed types, baffles over or under feeders, or buying feeders that have adjustable ledges to close off the see buffet to squirrels and other larger species.
