Video Recap
Have Hydrangeas but aren't sure what to do with them? From Panicles and Smooth Hydrangeas to Oak Leaf and Macrophylla, get tips and tricks for pruning and planting. Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist and Education Director with Petitti Garden Centers, to learn more about the different varieties of Hydrangeas and how to care for each of them. All types of Hydrangeas prefer moist, but well-draining soil. Macrophylla Hydrangeas (the most popular variety) and Smooth Hydrangeas love areas of the garden with 4-6 hours of sun. Remember, it is safe to dead-head your hydrangeas at any point in the season, but pruning should only be done at the end of July to avoid interfering with the bloom and bud cycle for the following year.
